Welcome to Groove Hoops in Motion! I am so excited to be able to share the joy and serenity of hooping. My journey began in 2008 when I discovered hoops on a whim while I was in a large box department store looking for something fun and challenging to do for fun and fitness. 

I came across hoops in the toy section, bought the largest one and was quickly frustrated to find I was unable to do it. I turned to the internet to find out how to hoop and came across the wonderful world of hoopdancing and adult-size hoops! I knew right then I had to have one. Upon receipt, I was hooked and have been hooping ever since.

The health benefits were quickly realized as weight began to melt off, my muscles were sore from hooping and my mind felt freer than it had in years. The benefits were quick and vast for me and I felt myself being enveloped in bliss whenever I was wrapped in a hoop. I truly believe in the rhythmic connection created with the hoop. It connects your body with your mind and your mind with Universe and the rhythms of the Earth.

In 2012, my son was born and I took a break from making hoops. Although I have continued my dance, I also led astray from it and gained back much of the weight I had lost. When I went to look for new hoops for myself, I saw that many were too small and too light to do any “real” body based hooping and thus have decided to re-enter the wonderful world of making custom, heavier groove hoops.

Here is a video of me in 2008 with the brand new LED hoop I had just completed. Although I will offer these again (they are larger and heavier than what are available from other makers), I am still working through some configurations as the upgraded ones will utilize LED strands that change colors and have a remote. The one below is a string of diodes individually soldered to wire and do not change pattern or color.
